The Move.
We found a local east bay company, arranged the time and day. And then in one simple trip, they loaded all our stuff into a moving truck, made it onto the highway, and headed North to Sonoma County, CA.
Leaving Oakland felt strange and also like tearing a band-aid off (one that had only a day or so left, and we curling up at the edges and was losing all it’s grip).
We zipped ahead in our small able car, and arrived at the house before the movers.
When the dust kicked up and car bounced up a pothole and dirt road.
Walking the empty house, we were excited but also a bit afraid.
What did we just sign up for.
